1. Who we are

Maven Maid provides residential cleaning services in North York, Ontario. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit mavenmaid.ca, book a cleaning, apply for a job or contact us. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information we collect

We only collect information we need to provide our services:

• Booking information: your name, phone number, email, service address and postal code; details about your home (such as type, bedrooms and bathrooms); your chosen service, extras, date and arrival window; access, parking or pet notes; and your preferred payment method. We do not collect credit card information on our website.
• Job applications: your name, contact details, neighbourhood, availability, experience, transportation, anything you tell us about yourself and your resume, if you upload one.
• Messages: anything you send us by phone, text or email.
• Technical information: when you visit our site, our hosting provider and font provider may automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.

3. How we use your information

• To schedule, confirm and deliver your cleaning, and to contact you about your booking
• To send payment instructions and receipts
• To follow up on quality, including our re-clean guarantee
• To review job applications and contact applicants
• To respond to your questions and improve our services
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

We will not use your information for other purposes without your consent. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Consent

By booking a cleaning, submitting a job application or contacting us, you consent to us collecting and using your information as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although this may mean we can’t provide a service or continue reviewing an application.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only when needed to run our business:

• Our cleaning team, who receive the details needed to clean your home (such as your address, access notes and the service booked)
• Service providers who help us operate, such as our website host and form provider (Netlify), our email provider, and our accounting or payment tools. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
• Authorities, when required by law

Some of our service providers may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

6. Cookies and third-party services

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address and browser information. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy.

7. How long we keep it

We keep booking and client information for as long as you use our services and as long as needed for tax and accounting records, usually up to seven years. We keep job applications for up to one year, unless you are hired. When information is no longer needed, we delete or securely destroy it.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts with limited access and sharing only what team members need to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously.

9. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

10. Children

Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
